Fine detail is ignored until the forms are all correct.

"BackLook" relief wall hanging sculpture.
This Portrait of LyanneRae is 22" x 30"
First step is to choose where the pose will be on the board. I found that putting it low and to the right made it much more dramatic.

This is the first, rough layer of clay. I'm trying to establish the high and low spots, then I can start to refine the forms.
